Illawarra Diggers Aged & Community Care

Illawarra Diggers Aged and Community Care is a not-for-profit residential aged care facility located at Corrimal in Wollongong's northern suburbs, caring for more than 100 men and women. Founded in 1946 to serve returning World War II veterans, it has grown to welcome residents from all corners of the community and is fully accredited by the Government Aged Care Standards Agency. The facility offers residential and respite care alongside a dedicated secure dementia unit, with accommodation ranging from standard ensuite rooms to premium suites. Visiting care professionals include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, podiatrists, dietitians, and a palliative care team. Set amid landscaped gardens in an elevated position overlooking the South Coast coastline, the facility provides a warm, homely environment with a kiosk/café, hairdressing services, and activities including bingo, arts and crafts, and exercise classes.
