Willoughby Retirement Hostel is a boutique 26-studio-apartment residential aged care facility at 1 Warrah Street, Chatswood NSW, operated by the not-for-profit Willoughby Retirement Community Association (WRCA), a charity established in 1971 by Willoughby City Council. The hostel holds the maximum 5-star My Aged Care rating — currently the only 5-star rated aged care home in northern Sydney — and carries maximum 3-year accreditation through to February 2028. Each studio apartment features a large ensuite bathroom and balcony overlooking Muston Park or Scotts Creek, across four floors served by two lifts, with 40 government-funded residential care places including respite care of up to nine weeks per year. The facility employs 45 staff including 10 registered nurses, and offers on-site amenities such as a hairdressing salon, dining room, activity and games areas, library with large-print books, and regular visiting musicians and podiatrists. The maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is $758,000; the broader campus also includes 52 independent-living self-care apartments for those seeking a less supported retirement lifestyle.
